Your personal investment data is yours. To provide aggregated views of your investment holdings and other functionality in the Services, AssetView contains your investment information (e.g. your positions, transactional dates and amounts), which is collectively referred to as “Personal Investment Data.” Your Personal Investment Data is not shared with any third party except: (a) if you opt to authorize a person ("Designated User") with whom you choose to share your Personal Investment Data through access to you portfolio(s) in AssetView; (b) if you opt to install Third-Party Developer Apps described in the App Partner Data section below, then you are choosing to share your Personal Investment Data with that Third-Party Developer; (c) in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request; or (d) to the administrative or legal authorities or any other authorized third party where this data sharing is set out in law. AssetView stores your Personal Investment Data locally on your computer and backups are stored in AssetView’s Cloud. Personal Investment Data is encrypted during transport and at rest. Our approach and tool set are constantly evolving to address the ever-changing dynamics of data security.
Yes. As an installed application, AssetView stores your Personal Investment Data in the application. AssetView provides a facility within the application to delete a portfolio. When you delete your portfolio, backups of the portfolio in Assetview’s cloud are also deleted. If you use multiple computers, you must delete your portfolio on each computer.
AssetView may collect data such as your name, device session identifier, action, pages viewed and the portion of this data that makes it possible to identify you directly is referred to as Personal Data (“PD”). This data, under strict conditions, may be shared with Personal Information Parties such as employees and contractors. We use this data for activities such as bug-fixing and analytics to improve our products and services. Personal Data stored locally or in AssetView’s Cloud is encrypted during transport and at rest. All data that AssetView collects that is not Personal Data is referred to as Non-Personal Data, which AssetView may release in the aggregate.
No. AssetView uses Clerk for authentication. and it is configured to enforce two-factor authentication. Your information is communicated directly with Clerk. We do not have access to your authentication methods (e.g. password, Oauth, secure key). We allow you to log in to AssetView based on Clerk’s authentication methods. Please store your credentials carefully. Without your credentials, your Personal Investment Data is inaccessible.
After you create your AssetView account which requires authentication through Clerk, you set your Passphrase, a set of characters you designate that is required to open your portfolios. As an emergency recovery method for you if you lose your credentials, AssetView automatically generates and provides to you a mnemonic (i.e. a series of random words). Please store your credentials securely and store your mnemonic in a secure location. Your Personal Investment Data is protected by encryption and is therefore inaccessible without either your credentials or your mnemonic.
AssetView uses partners (“Select Partners”) to provide some functionality in AssetView. The data that these Select Partners manage is referred to as "Select Partner Data.” We use these Select Partners because we believe their technology is industry leading to maintain security and privacy, and their commitment to security and privacy aligns with our core values. In these cases, your private data is communicated directly through an application programming interface to the Select Partner. Select Partners are independent entities from AssetView. So, AssetView is not responsible for the way in which our Select Partners use your Personal Data. If you want further information about these companies, please consult with them directly. Please review their policies thoroughly before using AssetView. Key Select Partners are Plaid (for connectivity to financial institutions), Stripe (for payment processing), and Clerk (for authentication).
AssetView uses Plaid to connect to your financial institutions. Your financial institution credentials are communicated directly with Plaid. We never see or have your financial institution credentials. AssetView only has access to data that you authorize Plaid to use.
AssetView uses Stripe for payment processing of your subscription to AssetView. Your payment information is collected directly by Stripe. We never see or have your payment method information. We store a token from Stripe that enables payment processing of your subscription to AssetView.
You may elect to use applications (“Apps”) for AssetView. Apps modify or create additional functionality in AssetView. Some Apps are authored and owned by AssetView (“AssetView Apps"). Your data in AssetView Apps is treated as “Personal Investment Data.” Some Apps are authored by third-party developers (“3PDs”). The Apps they create are referred to as "Third-Party Developer Apps" or “3PD Apps.” 3PDs must sign a security and privacy agreement with AssetView in order to offer a 3PD App. Still, they are independent entities from AssetView. So, AssetView is not responsible for the way in which our Select Partners use your data. As an additional layer for your protection, when you elect to install a 3PD App, you will sign a security and privacy agreement directly with the 3PD. Please review that agreement thoroughly before installing a 3PD App. When you first set up AssetView, no third-party developer Apps are installed.
