Getting Started

AssetView is a secure and private tool that enables you to make superior investing decisions across all asset classes, financial relationships, and time horizons.

Things to Know

  1. AssetView is installed as an application.
  2. AssetView requires an Internet connection.
  3. Updates to AssetView are implemented automatically when you close and re-open the application. If you are in the application when an update is released, you will be notified in the application and you may choose whether you update the application at that moment, or if not, AssetView will automatically update when you close and re-open the application.
  4. AssetView is optimized for wide-screen display.

Quick Start Guide

1) Security: Create your AssetView account; you may either set a user name and password or you may use one of the other authentication methods. In creating your user account, AssetView provides an additional layer of security through the optional use of a Passphrase which is a set of characters that you designate. If you set a passphrase, it becomes a required part of your credentials to sign in to AssetView and open your portfolios. As an emergency recovery method for you if you lose your credentials, AssetView automatically generates and provides to you a mnemonic (ie. a series of random words). Please store your credentials securely and store your mnemonic in a secure location. Without either your credentials or your mnemonic, your Personal Investment Data is protected by encryption and is therefore inaccessible.

2) Initial Portfolio: AssetView will automatically create your initial Portfolio which you may name.

3) Sources: Add Sources to connect your brokerage accounts to AssetView.

4) Accounts: Add Accounts other than those created by adding a Source (e.g. partnerships).

5) Account Attributes: Assign Attributes to your Accounts.

6) Assets: Add Assets other than those created by adding a Source.

7) Asset Attributes: Assign Attributes to your Assets.

8) Transactions: Add Transactions.
