Asset Creation
Overview
AssetView Apps guide you through the process of creating a new asset. There may be multiple choices of Apps for creating similar assets (i.e. there may be two Apps that create a bond). In this case, you may choose the App that best matches your goals and the characteristics of the asset that you want to create.
Asset Creation Apps
An asset's structural data is defined by the asset creation App (type: Handler) that you choose to create the asset. In other words, in choosing an asset creation App, you select the structure of the asset's data. That structure and the detail it contains are what enable AssetView to present detailed information in the Structured View across assets that share the same structure. While a Generic Asset Creation App or Other Asset Creation App may be presented as options, the benefit of picking a more specific asset creation App is a tailored creation process and more comprehensive structured information and views.
Example: If you choose a bond creation App to create an asset, the data for the asset will include a maturity date and coupon rate. If you choose a CD creation App to create a second asset, the data for that asset will also include a maturity date and coupon rate. The underlying commonality of structure identified automatically by the two asset creation Apps enable AssetView to show bonds and CDs together in a structured view including the maturity dates and the coupon rates for both assets.
Asset Creation App List
To assist you in choosing an appropriate asset creation App, AssetView groups the Apps under headings. While the headings and list will grow and change over time, for easy reference, the general list of Apps that manage asset creation follows.
